Overview

Individuals travelling to Slovakia with the purpose of visiting family & friends can apply.

It is not possible to issue a Schengen visa for a foreigner who is also a citizen of the Slovak Republic

The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Riyadh informs that it is not possible to issue a Schengen visa for Slovak citizens in a travel document issued by a third country. Such visa application is not admissible.

If the child's parent is demonstrably a citizen of the Slovak Republic, it is not possible to issue a Schengen visa for the child in a travel document issued by a third country.

A citizen of the Slovak Republic shall request the issuance of a passport or the issuance of a emergency travel document in order to travel to Slovak Republic. The emergency travel document is valid only for travel to Slovakia.

Travel insurance is mandatory for all Schengen countries.

The insured party, policy validity period, geographical coverage and schedule of benefits must be mentioned on the policy schedule/certificate.

Applicants are required to submit colored copy of passport and ID which shows clearly all information.

Translation of all Arabic documents into English or Slovak is mandatory.


Photo specifications

Applicants need to submit their Application form with the new photo format, as explained below:

The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

  • Use plain light-colored background.
  • The photo must be no more than 6-months old.
  • Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly.
  • Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
  • Photo in sharp focus and clear.

Photo Size

The photo for each visa applicant submitted must measure:

  • The picture dimensions must be 240 pixels wide by 320 pixels high at least. A smaller picture will be rejected. For instance, a photo being 235 pixels by 320 pixels is not valid.
  • On the other hand, the photo should keep a proportion of 3.5 x 4.5 (width x height) within limits. However, 250 x 340 pixels picture would be valid, but not a 290 x 340 pixels one.
  • Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes. Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes.

Processing Time

From the date of receipt of application at the Embassy of Slovakia, it takes 15 to 45 working days to process the visa application. The duration of days when the application is in transit between the Visa Application Centre and the Embassy are not counted.
